Nonsolomoda Srl (Ltd.) is a fashion design studio founded in 1991. Throughout the years we gained experience in the design and manufacturing process of different kinds of clothing, including but not limited to classic, formal, jeans and sportswear. What we offer is a complete service that takes care of all the early-life stages of the product, from the initial design phase to the actual manufacturing. Our business consists also of the management of other elaboration phases: model projection, prototyping, set of samples, cutting, tailoring, washing, ironing and delivering the final product. Set of samples and production are managed in Italy through our subcontractors. Our main goal is to offer the best quality-to-price ratio available on the market. We take very good care of every elaboration step and it's our prerogative is to respect the delivering time. Attention to customer’s needs and professionalism are the foundations on which we developed our company.
Starting from the designer’s sketch and from the guidelines on the materials, we take care of the paper model of each article. We can make a paper model from a picture or an article used as sample. By means of specific software, we can draw, in real scale, all the parts needed to create the article, based on the customer indications for fitting, final image and style. The paper model is delivered to the customer printed on paper or in a digital format for revision and feedback. We have the experience and the professionality to make paper models of adults and kids, in textiles, quilts, leather and outdoor fiber.
Once the paper model is ready, we create a first prototype using the materials that the customer intends to use for the production or similar ones, depending on the requests. Then we proceed with cutting and hand-made tailoring of all the parts. Already from this first step, we evaluate the shrinking percentage of the fabrics, to check on fabric shrinking due to the treatments used during the production. Cutting precision and tailoring accuracy are key elements for the perfect prototype. The finished prototype is then carefully controlled by an expert technician and by our modelers. If any flaw emerges, we take one step back and the item goes through a fixing process. Once it is finished, the prototype is given to the customer who will evaluate the quality and how it fits.
Starting from the base size of the article, we proceed to enlarge or reduce it proportionally, always being careful about the shape, image and original article fit. During all the design phases, we keep contact with the customer who keeps track of the possible integrations or modifications. For each paper model we make, a technical file is released. This file is ready to be given to the production, with cut graphics and all the detailed information about seam mode and article tailoring. Specific attention is set for the proportional scaling of the size and to the subsequent development of graphics for the production, so to use the fabric in the most efficient way possible.
In order to allow the mass-production and serial cut of the articles, focusing on reducing fabric waste, it is necessary place the placement graphic, in other words, the best disposition on fabric of all the element that, seamed together, make the article. We always give different graphic for the different sizes, all of them in a digital format suitable for the production machine. The outcome of this phase depends exclusively on the features of the chosen materials, their composition, and the print type. Square patterns, lines or pattern with a direction, require a studied placing for make the print correspond and create a harmonized and uniform article. That comes with an intrinsic waste of fabric. The same applies to velvet textiles or rib in general: it is necessary that all the fibers are in the same direction because there is the risk that is detected in a different tonality.
